TRAVEL to and around COLUMBUS

The John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) is only 6 miles from the Hotel and 8 miles to the OSU campus. You will have to arrange rideshare or taxi service from the airport to your lodging as neither option provides a shuttle. Taxis and pick-up locations for ridesharing services are available on the ground transportation level of the terminal 24 hours a day.


MEALS and REFRESHMENTS

This year, all Breakfast, Lunch, Mid-Morning, and Mid-Afternoon Breaks are included and on-site at the conference, available at the Great Hall Meeting Room or Founders, Pre-Function (area in front of the Founders Room). Your registration fee also includes the final awards banquet dinner.
For your other dinners, we hope you take the opportunity to explore Columbus' offerings. Options abound in the district surrounding campus and the hotel.
 


HOTEL


THE GRADUATE COLUMBUS
The Graduate Hotel, located in the heart of the Short North District with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance and a short ride to campus on one of the complimentary bike rentals offered at the hotel.

We offer a complimentary shuttle bus service between the hotel and the Ohio Union. Shuttles will loop during the morning shortly before and after the breakfast/meeting begins and at the end of the day.

Graduate Columbus offers a variety of amenities to enjoy during your stay including on-site dining, a 24-hour gym and a pet friendly policy. The hotel is a 15-minute ride to the John Glenn Columbus Intl Airport (~$15 via rideshare).


CAMPUS HOUSING

We are excited to be able to offer a more affordable housing option for our conference attendees. Single dorm rooms on the OSU campus equipped with a private bath, XL twin bed and linens will be available for approximately $70/night. There is also a double room option available with two twin XL beds, linens and semi private bathrooms at $35/night per person. The double room is only available when reserved for two people.

The Society of Nematologists 2023 Annual Meeting will have participants staying in Jones Tower (single rooms) and the Bowen House (double rooms). Jones Tower is located at 123 West Lane Avenue, Columbus, OH 43210; whereas the Bowen House is located at 2125 N High St, Columbus, OH 43210.

Check in will take place directly at the front desk of Jones Tower (single rooms) and Bowen House (double rooms). On the planned date of arrival for your conference guests, which is 07/09/2023, the Jones Tower (single rooms) and Bowen House (double rooms) desk will be open from 7am -11pm Eastern Time. We offer a complimentary shuttle bus service between the hotel and the Ohio Union. Shuttles will loop during the morning shortly before and after the breakfast/meeting begins and at the end of the day.

Make your reservation by carefully following these instructions:  

Step 1: Go to housingportal.osu.edu/myconference

Step 2: Click on "Individual Housing" at the top of the page. 

 

Step 3: Fill Out the requested information, including creation of an account with email and password.  The Group or Individual Arrival Date for SON 2023 is July 9th. The Group or Individual Departure Date is July 14th. Once all the information is filled out hit save and continue at the bottom of the page. 

 

 

Step 4: Follow the on-screen instructions to book a new reservation. It will ask for a group or reservation code. For the society of Nematologists, the Codes are as follows: 

nematode1 (if you want to book a single room by yourself)

nematode2 (if you want to book a double room with someone else, each booking must be entered individually)

Step 5: On the next page, select the dates for your booking (only July 9th through July 14th are available). 

Step 6: Select the building. Add room to cart. Hit save and continue. 

Step 7: Follow the instructions for online payment. 

Step 8: You will get a confirmation once payment is complete that the booking is completed.

The Ohio Union is located at 1739 N. High Street at the corner of 12th Avenue and High Street.
