We have a very LIMITED block of rooms at the Element by Marriott Bozeman July 18th through July 22nd with our Group Rate ($339/night +tax).

The deadline for hotel reservations with the room block discount expire on June 17, 2027.

Getting There

Traveling to Bozeman by air:

Bozeman International Airport (BZN) will be the easiest airport to travel to and from the conference - located 11 miles from MSU Campus and services all major airlines daily. See the airport website for more information on flying and rental car options and other ground transportation. 

Ground transportation: 

Conference events will be held at the Montana State University Student Union Building (SUB). Daily parking is available in a parking garage located next to SUB on levels 1 and 2. Visit the campus visitors page for more information on parking. 

To Reach SUB from the Interstate:

• From I-90, take exit 305 onto North 19th Avenue
• Turn south (into Bozeman) and follow 19th to College Avenue (approximately 3 miles)
• Turn left onto College Avenue and you will reach a four-way stop, which is 11th Avenue
• Continue straight until you are at the intersection of Kagy and 11th.
• Turn left onto Kagy and continue until you are at the intersection of Kagy and 7th.
• Turn left on to 7th and continue until you are at 7th and Grant.
• Turn left on to Grant. The Strand Union Building will be on your right.
• You may park in the parking garage or visit our visitor parking page for other options.

The US Department of State website has a Visa Wizard in which you can explore if you will require a visa to attend the conference. The type of visa needed to attend a professional conference classifies under Business (B1).

 Letters of invitation 

Being a global community of scientists, we understand that many of you might need letters of invitation in order to gain visa approval to travel to the US for SON2027. Attendees are encouraged to apply for a visa as soon as you are confident you will attend. Some consulates may have backlogs in scheduling visa interviews, so applicants should contact the consulate directly to determine wait times. All applicants must be able to qualify for a visa on their own merits. SON cannot intervene with embassies in other countries on behalf of any meeting participants. 

Customized visa invitation letters can be issued to confirmed registrants— those who have paid the meeting registration fees, have submitted an abstract, or are otherwise presenting. If you would like to receive a visa invitation letter, please complete the invitation letter request form.
