There is a break in the scientific schedule during SON2023 on Wednesday, July 12th beginning at 12:30 pm. Sack lunches will be provided to all as you decide how to spend your time away from the conference center.
The local arrangements committee has created an optional field trip that attendees may register to take part in. Buses will be provided from the conference center to Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio. Travel time will be about an hour and fifteen minutes, during which time you can eat your lunch as you enjoy the scenic drive or wait and picnic at the park. Upon arrival, guests will be free to explore the park at their leisure. Hocking Hills is home to many trails, caves, and waterfalls. It’s a scenic treasure of the state of Ohio! The visit to Hocking Hills will be the perfect opportunity for guests to enjoy fresh air, take an extended hike, or learn some of the natural histories in the area. After a few hours of exploration, guests will be taken to dinner at a local brewery, located between Columbus and Logan. Attendees will enjoy an evening of drinks, food, and music.
Registering for this field trip ensures scenic afternoon and an evening of fun. After dinner, the bus will return to Columbus for attendees to rest before starting activities for the next day of the conference.
